One of the first posts we ever published on our main Security blog, was on the topic of USB or data sticks and how easily they are lost, stolen or can be compromised in the first place (by being pre-loaded with malware and left lying around or handed out). That was almost four years ago and very little appears to have changed since; people are still using un-encrypted USBs to transport personal data and this week sees a disturbing loss at a top York school.
